Get to know
Hello there! My name is Justin Lessard (he/him/his) and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist. As a former university athlete with a diverse sporting and movement background, I understand firsthand the complex relationship between performance, identity, and wellbeing. I believe that sport is not something we simply do—it is deeply interconnected with who we are, shaping our sense of self, relationships, values, and life experiences. My approach is collaborative, personalized, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I work with athletes, performers, students, professionals, and individuals navigating high-performance environments, recognizing that every person's experiences, strengths, and challenges are unique.
Drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Existential pproaches, I help clients build psychological flexibility, resilience, self-awareness, and sustainable performance. As someone who lives with neurodiversity and has both professional training and lived experience in neurodivergence, I bring a nuanced understanding of the ways different minds experience performance, motivation, attention, emotion, and identity.
I am neurodiversity-affirming, neurodiversity-educated, and committed to supporting clients in ways that honour their individual needs and strengths. I also recognize that performance does not occur in a vacuum. Systemic, cultural, social, and environmental factors can profoundly influence wellbeing, access, opportunity, and achievement. My work seeks to understand the broader context of each person's experience while supporting meaningful growth and change. I am a queer- and trans-allied practitioner committed to creating a respectful, inclusive, and affirming space where clients can explore both performance and personal development authentically and safely. Whether you are striving for excellence in sport, navigating performance challenges, or exploring your relationship with movement and identity, I aim to provide a supportive and thoughtful space for growth. Together, we can build the skills, insight, and resilience needed to pursue what matters most to you—both in performance and in life.
